“We are an Awareness Brand created to educate, raise awareness, and motivate people with lymphedema to a healthier lifestyle, and to know that you are not alone. To me, this is more than just a brand. It’s something that defines me and what has been a part of My Life For 17 years and how I’ve been fighting ever since. 1 in 1000 Americans are affected by this disease and many people still do not know what it is. I hope I can help to change that. Let’s help in the fight against Lymphedema. Thanks for your support.”

MY STORY
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
My name is Dominique Rogers from Hartford, CT. When I was 15, I was outside playing basketball and rolled my ankle, and it started to swell. When I got home, my mom told me to elevate it and put ice on it. The next day my whole right leg was swollen. After A Week in The Hospital, I was diagnosed with lymphedema, which many people are unaware of what lymphedema is to this day. At this time, I had to mature faster than most because I was dealing with a very serious condition and if left untreated could cause irreversible damage to me physically and mentally….
I still was a kid and was competitive and wanted to still be active, so I continued to play sports, and work out. I made a choice to not let my condition define who I was and have people think I couldn’t do something all because of how my leg looked. 17 years later I still battle the condition but I feel as though I am winning. I am a career Fire Fighter in my hometown and I also am an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Anything is possible! Walk this journey with me. The Fight Continues!

Recurring infections
Hardening and thickening of the skin (fibrosis)
OVERVIEW OF THE CONDITION
Lymphedema refers to swelling that generally occurs in one of your arms or legs. Sometimes both arms or both legs swell.
Lymphedema is most commonly caused by the removal of or damage to your lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment. It results from a blockage in your lymphatic system, which is part of your immune system. The blockage prevents lymph fluid from draining well, and the fluid buildup leads to swelling.
While there is presently no cure for lymphedema, it can be managed with early diagnosis and diligent care of your affected limb.
